Let’s clarify a couple of things right now. I’m not going to tell you what to do because of that free will thing, so you can do what you want. But like any good parent, I will still love you.
Since you brought Me into this conversation, let Me tell you how I see things and give you some advice. Here’s why. I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, humans aren’t bodies with spirits. You are spirits with bodies. Want to know why? Because you’re made in My image. I’m a spirit, so you’re all spirits. And I love your spirits. Everyone’s actions? Not so much.
Think of this little planet as a kind of sandbox for your bodies to learn and grow with the things your spirits are telling you. Sometimes they listen, and sometimes they don’t.
For example, take that little would-be tyrant Trump. He has an okay spirit, but his physical body and actions? He’s a Hitler 2.0! That didn’t work out too well either, did it?
Oh Me. There’s a great scene where Morgan Freeman is playing Me in Evan Almighty, and he says, “When you ask God for courage, He doesn’t give you courage. He gives you the opportunity to be courageous. When you ask for patience, He doesn’t give you patience. He gives you the opportunity to be patient.”
He’s right. Don’t be a Trump. He’s blown every opportunity I’ve sent his way. There’s just no remorse, even after all those second chances.
“The Chosen One?” Have people forgotten the Access Hollywood tape? All those convictions? How he cheated on all three of his wives? And don’t get me started on his inner feelings about Ivanka!
How could anyone possibly believe in him after all that? Why do I bother giving people brains if they’re not going to use them?
You’re Doing A Great Job, Joe.
I don’t get involved in politics. Suffice it to say, it’s really pretty simple. I want you all to love Me and love each other. Do that, and all will be well with the world.
I think we can agree the world is not in that place, so what do we do?
You and your team have done amazing things for people in need—really amazing, especially considering your opposition. The way they talk, you would think those people had never heard of My Son. Ever heard of loving your neighbor? The story of the Good Samaritan? The Golden Rule?
Politics is a dirty business, Joe. Everybody says it, so why do politicians always say, “I’ve Spent My Life in Public Service?” Talk about irony!
So here’s the thing—and I’m surprised I have to mention this to you—you are older now. You say you know it, but I think you’re missing the point. When everyone says you’re showing your age, you have two real choices:
- Disprove it, or
- Admit it.
What do you do? You walk around playing the Emperor in The Emperor Has No Clothes.
Everyone who has called for you to stand down has praised you and called you a good and decent man. A man who has served his country well and saved it from a would-be tyrant. You’re the George Washington of your time.
I was trying so hard to help you, and I even gave George Stephanopoulos some great questions to encourage you to be honest.

You make it look like you know the results and are hiding them.
I’m starting to feel like I sound like I want you to give up. Not true. I just want you to be honest with yourself. George asked if you were being honest with yourself. Are you? Or are you in denial, Joe?
Donnie will point out and amplify every little mistake. If he wins, it will destroy a lot of good people in your country.
The thing Morgan Freeman didn’t say but is also true, is when you ask for wisdom, I don’t give you wisdom. I give you the opportunity to be wise.
This is your chance to be wise. The barbarians are at the gate, and if you lose, it’s not just you who loses. It doesn’t matter that you gave 110%. That answer is too easy. It’s not a matter of, “Wait until next year.” Ukraine won’t be there next year.
People are not convinced you can win this time, even though you beat Donnie before. Why are people not calling out his lies and only dumping on you? Look at his record, his convictions, his non-stop lying. Look at his plans for the future. Yet, you are the one behind in the polls. What does that tell you?
It tells Me your messaging is not reaching the right people—or it’s not the right messaging. You don’t have to be Me to understand that.
I am not political, so why am I spending all this time with you? Because it’s necessary. I let Hitler go unchecked for far too long.
Let me clarify that last sentence. As you know, other than natural disasters, I work through people. You need a friend? I send one. You need to love someone? I send someone. I sent lots of people to stop Adolf, but there weren’t enough of them. It took a war. Remember this quote:

I know you’re trying to do something, but have you considered the role of Elder Statesman?
You must either win or choose someone you trust to guarantee the win. People want a guarantee, although there are no guarantees. But this should be easy. Too many people are asking Me to step in, but this is as far as I go.
It’s time to show, don’t tell. You have to stop digging holes with words.
